Pictorial Books
Introduction
Presidents are often photographed officially during their formal presidential duties,
social events, family gatherings or while they are just relaxing. These photos are taken
by their own photographers, or by the press in order for the public to feel more closer
to their President and their life. The public's fascination was no different during the
Reagan presidency, this as well as the fact the President had formerly been an movie actor,
increased interest in images of the President and the First Lady. The books included in
this section are primarily illustrated, with photographs from the Reagan Presidency,
however many of the books included are political cartoons books, editorial cartoons,
as well as illustrated coloring books, which combined humor and anecdotes about the
president. Many of the photograph books are biographical with collection of illustration
from the President's life, and allow the public a closer view into the President.
